Google+ to launch business pages…

Recently a post on Mashable.com regarding the upcoming launch of Google+’s business and brand pages caught my attention, since not so long ago we were discussing in class about how Google+ didn’t allow anyone to create a fictitious profile. I guess the pressure to win the race against Facebook is forcing Google to open its doors to a new wave of users.

The problem is that Google+ announced the launching of this new feature without really explaining the fact that the process is available at this very moment for just a few hand-picked businesses and brands. If they are still in the testing stage, they should have refrained from making it public until it was ready to roll for every business interested. I don’t think this fact will hurt Google+ deeply or in the long run, but it could gather a few angry users for the time being.
