Government: The FDA
Site description: The FDA’s homepage is very, very sterile. It’s the stereotypical government page: a boring mix of blues and greys, with a jumble of links spattered across it.
Audience: Technically, it’s every American citizen has some interest in this site, but the design might appeal to an older crowd who lack the web 2.0 aesthetic. Probably also parents who are concerned with their children’s safety.
Business/Site Goals: The goal of the site is to educate the public about food and drug safety issues.
Technologies used: The company that designed the site, Gelinas Associates, says in their “services offered” section that they create customizable CSS and XTML templates for their clients.
